Feeding Greene GRANTS
Feeding Greene, Inc has been blessed by receiving several key grants in 2022 and 2023 that have allowed the pantry to purchase fresh produce and age-appropriate foods for our children and seniors.
In addition to support with purchasing foods, we have also received grant funds from the Eco Living Grant to purchase reusable bags for our clients to significantly reduce our plastic bag usage and increase our environmentally friendly practices.
In 2022, Feeding Greene, Inc received $2,000 from The Power of Change for food purchases in support of our Client Choice Program. The Power of Change receives its funding from REC members who volunteer to have their electric bill rounded-up to the next highest whole dollar. If Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) provides your power, we ask that you consider supporting The Power of Change to help others in need. Once enrolled, the extra change from your electric bill will be dedicated to charitable causes . Members can sign up by visiting REC's website (http://www.thepowerofchange.org) or by calling 800-552-3904 for more information. The average member contribution is approximately $6.00 per year and is tax deductible. An annual statement of your charitable contribution will be mailed to you.
USPS "Stamp Out Hunger" program collected 4,302 pounds of donated food items during this years Stamp Out Hunger Program. We would like to thank the USPS staff as well as citizens of Greene and the volunteer who donated their time to load, deliver and sort.
