Feeding Greene Mission
To see that no one goes to bed hungry in Greene County
Spotlight on our Sentara Cares Support!
Feeding Greene Needs your help!
Feeding Greene continues to offer a vital resource to many families in our community whose lives are being impacted by the increase in cost of living. The last 3 years have presented us with challenges and moved us in a direction to rethink and reimagine how we can best meet the needs of our community. This important work is supported largely by generous donors in and around our community. We have pivoted efforts to continue to support our families in new ways. We now offer assistance with applying for TANF, SNAP, TEFAP, Medicaid, Medicare. We'll also be supporting our community through digital literacy workshops, network 2 work job preparedness, and educational nutrition classes. Our general operating costs have increased significantly throughout the pandemic and will not likely ever return to pre-pandemic levels. Your support is needed now more than ever as we work to keep our pantry shelves stocked.
Our struggling economy is bringing a whole new wave of families through the doors of Feeding Greene. In September 2023, we served over 700 families through 1700 visits including client choice shopping trips, home deliveries, and backpack distributions at the schools.
