It's time for our Annual Fund Drive!!!!
I'm sure you are aware of the important role that Feeding Greene plays in helping people in our community. This important work is supported largely by generous donors who contribute to our annual fund drive. This year it is more important than ever as we seek to serve families whose lives have been and still are being impacted by COVID-19. We will have greater financial challenges ahead as we seek to maintain the same level of service to our community who are in need of assistance. Our food costs will increase significantly in 2021 as we seek to keep our pantry shelves stocked. Without the continued support of generous donors like you, these needs will likely go unmet. Your support is needed now more than ever.
This year we saw our numbers increase at unprecedented rates due to the pandemic. The statistics listed below reflect the time from March thru August of 2019 compared to the same time in 2020.
The increases in households served and volume of food distributed came at a time that we were losing 80% of our volunteer force. Thankfully the community stepped up and new volunteers who were home from work and school came to help. As they now return to their normal schedules, we are faced with filling their positions at a time that we are seeing a surge in new families seeking assistance, many for the first time ever. We continue to face these challenges knowing that we live in a caring, compassionate community dedicated to helping others. What a blessing it is to work and serve in a community that truly cares for one another. The most exciting news of 2020 is that we were able to purchase and move to our new location at 81 Main Street in the Town of Stanardsville! We began serving families from the new location on June 2, 2020. It was perfect timing as it allowed us the space to house more food and move to a drive-thru method of safely serving families during the pandemic. We hope to be in the whole building by the end of the year as we make plans to bring families back into the building. It is a beautiful, functional space that will allow us to grow with the community and offer even more services to families in the future. The families we serve have been unbelievably appreciative during this time and continue to express their appreciation through phone calls, letters, emails and in person. Many of these families have never needed our assistance and never imagined themselves coming to a food pantry. We are so grateful we can be here in their time of need and we are here because you continue to support Feeding Greene and our mission. We are grateful for donations of any amount. Every donation makes a difference to a family in need! Please consider clicking the "DONATE NOW" button below or mail a check to P.O. Box 13 Stanardsville, VA 22973. We value your support and recognize your critical role in making Feeding Greene a sustainable resource for families in Greene County. May God Bless You!!

****IMPORTANT**** COVID 19 (Coronavirus) response from Feeding Greene
As things continue to develop we are continuing to do our best to meet the needs of families in our area. We have been faced with unprecedented numbers of new families needing assistance during these difficult times. We will continue to welcome all who need help and provide whatever assistance we can.
Feeding Greene will be open and providing food on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10:00am – 12:00pm.
We have altered our process to ensure the safety of our families and our volunteers. We are pre-bagging staples and fresh produce for individuals and families. We will also have kid specific bags that will contain snackable fruits and easy to prepare meals.
We will be using a modified drive up/walk up system to avoid any crowds and to keep germ spread to a minimum. Please bear with us as we make these necessary changes and deal with increasing numbers. Our priority is the safety of our families and our volunteers and part of that is to ensure that families have adequate food to make it through this difficult time.
If you find yourself in need of food and you have not been to us before, please call us at 434.985.3663 or contact us through Facebook or email email@example.com and we will get you set up and make sure you have what you need!
If you know of someone who is stuck at home and needs food, please contact us and we will do everything we can to help.

We have a new location!!!! 81 Main Street Stanardsville
We are now serving families from our new location, 81 Main Street! Many may know this as the former Hardware store and IGA grocery before that. We are so excited about this opportunity!
We will continue to serve families with a drive-up system during the COVID-19 crisis. We will have signage and volunteers helping with the flow. We look forward to the day when we can welcome families inside the new facility!!
